Nhaungu Ngurrawaanalangu.
Through our Ngurrawaana eyes.

The Juluwarlu Photography Collective is a gang of young kids living and working in Ngurrawaana Community. It is based on Yindjibandi Country, on the tablelands in the Pilbara, Western Australia. It is made of many kids who come and go for work, holidays and training as part of the opportunities Juluwarlu creates to upskill and engage the young people in the community. The photos taken here were part of two workshops held with Sarah Landro from Camera Story—one funded by Desart as part of the ‘Digital Labelling’ Project and the other by AACHWA as part of the ‘Our Country Moves’ project.

The clever young people who started the collective want to show the world Yindjibarndi Country through their eyes. The young people are aged between 5-24, and include Wimiya Woodley, Mahsari Walker, Ava Christophers, Laura Woodley, Joy Woodley, Pearlina Jacobs, Tevin Walker, Isabelle Walker, Annalise Walker, Dustin Walker and CJ Walker.
