Earth mark-making – Sistahood - Deadly women sharing stories.
This canvas was fully immersed in the Blackwood River for about 6 months. I often dye cloth at home in my dirty-pots, this time I wanted Mother Nature to make her own marks. She did…..
We walk to the river in a single line, through the bush. The excitement builds.
We can hear the black cockatoos up high calling & talking to each other.
We hear the river, running so quietly, calling us to come closer.
Slowing down and letting ourselves be immersed in nature, to me it represents calm, healing, patience and peacefulness.
We are enveloped by the bush around us and the warmth from the sun filtering through the trees completes this sense of oneness on the land.

Acknowledgements – Caroline Barton – for allowing us to come and be immersed in your back yard
Davida Palmer - my mentor and advisor through my ceramics journey.
Helen Coleman, for leaving your beautiful eco dyed rope at NAP.
