My name is Kathleen Clifton, I am 17 years old from Broome, Western Australia. My grandfather on my mother's side is Arnold 'Puggy' Hunter he is Nyikina from the Martuwarra (Fitzroy River) region of the Kimberley and my grandmother Matilda 'Blondie' Pascoe-Queama is Kokatha and grew up in the desert country of South Australia including Ooldea, Oak Valley and Koonibba. My grandfather Peter Clifton on my father's side is Njamal and Ngarluma from the Pilbara and my grandmother Helga Lawford is Nyul Nyul from the Dampier peninsula. My parents names are Albert Clifton and Renee Clifton. Both my parents also paint. I have a passion for doing art with my family. I have sold my artwork locally, nationally and internationally. I recently had my Contemporary Aboriginal art displayed on Yagan Square's 45 metre digital tower, which was very exciting to see on a huge scale. I love painting using different mediums, doing a recent mural at Raine Square and doing graphic designs. I have grown up in Broome and regularly go camping at Beagle Bay on my grandmother's country. This has given me a huge connection to the ocean and all ocean animals. I am a huge animal lover and love to paint all ocean and land animals. If I'm not painting I am playing my guitar or piano.
